Midland City Elementary School is a small community school located in Midland City, Alabama, in the southern part of Dale County, approximately five miles north of Dothan. The Southern Association has accredited the school since 1978. In 1998-1999, Midland City Elementary School became a Title I School. Title I increases funding to our school, resulting in our ability to provide a state of the art computer lab, tutorial for at-risk students, and additional computers and software for each grade level classroom. Midland City Elementary School is very active in the Accelerated Reader Program which has been assisted by Title I funding. This funding also allows for the purchase of planners for each student, thus increasing parent teacher communication. Being a Title I School enables our staff greater opportunities to provide a variety of developmentally appropriate activities to enhance learning at all levels. *Individuals Interested in the School-Wide Title I Plan for Midland City Elementary School can view a copy of the plan at one of several locations including the school, the local public library, and at the Dale County Board of Education office in Ozark.
