It is operated by an elected five-member Board of Education. Offices are located in the Creel Richardson Building in Ozark, Alabama. Our system has schools diverse in enrollment and curriculum, located in all corners of the county: Ariton, Skippervile, Newton, Pinckard, and Midland City. Dale County, a progressive county of approximately 52,000, is located in southeast Alabama, 75 miles south of Montgomery and 110 miles north of Panama City Beach, Florida. According to the October 1998 issue of Consumers Digest, Ozark, the county seat, has been sited as one of the top ten best and most affordable cities to retire in America. The Dale County School System is comprised of 3 elementary schools, 1 middle school, 2 high schools, and 1 elementary/high school combination. Student enrollment exceeds 2,700. The system employs over 200 professionals, 100 support staff.
